Jie Wang pursued her medical training at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, where she also earned her PhD in 2010, focusing on the role of reactive oxygen species in tumor development. Between 2008 and 2011, she furthered her research at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), initially as an exchange PhD student and subsequently as a postdoctoral fellow, exploring the transcriptional regulation of eye-specific genes through CTCF-mediated chromatin organization. Jie embarked on her editorial career in 2012 as a Scientific Editor at Cell Research. She joined Nature Cell Biology as a Senior Editor in 2017. She made the move to Nature in June 2022 and handles papers related to epigenetics, chromatin & transcription, and signal transduction.


Abstract:

Nature is a weekly international journal publishing the finest peer-reviewed research in all fields of science and technology. In this talk, I will give a brief introduction of Nature, with a focus on the editorial process, editor’s roles and responsibilities, and editorial threshold for biological submissions. Additionally, I will offer insights on how to engage effectively with editors and reviewers.
