Speaker:

Dr. Hao Yin, professor, Medical Research Institute, Wuhan University

Dr. Yin obtained his PhD from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, and he did postdoc training at Robert Langer and Daniel Anderson lab in MIT. In 2018, he joined the Medical Research Institute of Wuhan University as a principal investigator. His group focuses on developing next-generation genome editing tools and delivery vectors for gene therapy. He has published as a corresponding author in Nature Methods (2022), Nature Biomedical Engineering (2020, 2022), Nature Cell Biology (2021) and Nature Reviews Clinical Oncology (2019).

Abstract:

CRISPR-based gene therapy has tremendous potential for clinical utility. For CRISPR-based systems to effectively enter cells of interest and perform their function, efficient and safe delivery methods are required. Lack of homology-directed repair in most somatic cells limits the use of gene editing for therapeutic purpose. To address these challenges, we developed new genome editing tools and delivery technologies.
